Pinoleville Pomo Nation selected for funding from Tribal Solar Accelerator Fund for new clean energy project:
Pinoleville Pomo Nation has been awarded funding for a new solar energy project from the Tribal Solar Accelerator Fund (TSAF), a tribal-led initiative with seed funding from Wells Fargo that aims to catalyze the growth of solar energy and expand solar job opportunities in tribal communities across the United States. Pinoleville Pomo Nation plans to install 15 KW solar system on the roof top of the Tribal Youth Education Facility to provide 10-18 percent of the total electric usage of all the tribal governmental buildings. Additionally, the project will recruit four tribal trainees to complete 300 hours of solar installation training and certify two of four trainees as solar installers for workforce development. The Tribe will also develop two educational modules for elementary and middle/high schools to serve at least 60 native students using the on-site solar system and engage them in hands-on activities to promote renewable energy.
